The Polar Express event is always a hit at Linda Lyon. This year, we are fortunate to have Mrs. Lyon herself and her helper, The Conductor, making a special appearance. Their involvement enhanced our Cub's experience, making it both realistic and incredibly fun. What a fantastic way to wrap up the week before we head out to enjoy winter break! At Linda Lyon we are always dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our students.
This holiday season, our sixth grade SAGE students completed a heartfelt service project by researching how to make homemade dog and cat toys. They generously donated these toys to the Rockwall Pet Adoption Center, making a positive impact on the lives of the animals there. In addition to their crafting efforts, the students also spent time loving on a couple of the dogs that are still looking for a good home. Their kindness and compassion truly exemplify the spirit of giving.
Officer Aldridge made some time during his busy day to read to our Cubs and get them excited about reading. The students truly enjoyed the story and the interaction they had with him. It's heartwarming to see how Officer Aldridge not only protects our school but also encourages our Cubs to develop a love for reading.
Our LLES students truly showcased their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills during the event. It was inspiring to see how they collaborated and applied their knowledge in such a dynamic environment. This was such a great experience for our Cubs.
The P.E. program at Linda Lyon is wonderful. The kids have so much fun and genuinely look forward to it every day. Our amazing P.E. teachers consistently come up with the most creative activities that not only keep our students engaged but also instill the joy of staying healthy while exercising. It’s truly a delight to see them enjoying themselves while learning valuable skills.
Our LL family had so much fun during the "Anything But A Backpack" day! It was amazing to see all the creative ideas the Cubs came up with. Everyone really went above and beyond to bring something unique!
Our third graders were ready to dive into place value and contraction/grammar surgery. Their intelligence and enthusiasm for learning is truly remarkable. They embodied the role of a doctor from head to toe, which was so much fun for them.
Linda Lyon Elementary sent 8 C.I.A members along with sponsor, Mrs. Aldridge, to the TEPSA (Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association) Leadership Workshop. During the 5-hour training, students and sponsors learned to explore and develop their personal leadership styles, discover how to effectively communicate, identify leadership challenges and problem-solving techniques, and connect with student leaders from across the district.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our student council and Cubs in Action, we have successfully collected a whopping 3,772 cans for our Pack the Pantry event! This marks the most successful Pack the Pantry we have had to date, and it wouldn't have been possible without the support and effort of our Linda Lyon families. Their commitment to helping our community is truly inspiring. LLE will keep the momentum going and continue making a positive impact!
It was a wonderful experience to see the 3rd graders engaged and excited to learn alongside our 4th graders. The enthusiasm they brought to the activities was infectious! Their collaboration made this event fun and engaging for all of the students involved. Not only did they play games, but they also learned how things change and move through energy.
