The Polar Express event is always a hit at Linda Lyon. This year, we are fortunate to have Mrs. Lyon herself and her helper, The Conductor, making a special appearance. Their involvement enhanced our Cub's experience, making it both realistic and incredibly fun. What a fantastic way to wrap up the week before we head out to enjoy winter break! At Linda Lyon we are always dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our students.
Our second graders have experienced an amazing Swim Week. They have learned all about water safety, practiced perseverance, and made many lasting memories!
Our UIL chess team sharpens their skills and makes great moves! They are preparing to showcase their knowledge of chess rules and their ability to solve puzzles. I am confident they are ready to shine.
What an awesome week of KINDNESS! We celebrated Random Acts of Kindness throughout the school, with kindness grams, Bingo/tic-tac-toe, friendship bracelets, and choosing to be the ONE to start a chain of kindness! I am so proud of all our Cubs and the kindness they show every day.
Science lessons in our 4th grade classrooms have been a blast. The students had a fantastic time analyzing the in-class model of the water cycle and then heading outside to mimic water molecules in motion. It was wonderful to see them actively engage their bodies while learning about such an important topic in science.
The Pajama Party Concert with our sweet Cubs was absolutely fabulous! Our second graders shined on stage, filling the night with music, joy, and cozy vibes. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special performance! We love Mrs. Borg!
Linda Lyon 3rd grade scientists are out of this world! The students truly brought the planets to life with their engaging activities, including marble rolling, feather painting, watercolors, chalk drawings, and even shaving cream! It was wonderful to see them having so much fun while learning about the planets.
6th grade students in SAGE attended Pathways to Success today where they had choice sessions to learn about career path options. From Arson Investigation to Fashion Design, Human Systems Engineering to Filmmaking, our presenters shared their expertise and advice with our students. What a wonderful opportunity!
What a fun time in our 4th grade classrooms today. The students have been diligently learning and working on poetry for the past two weeks, and it was heartwarming to see their creativity come to life. During their poetry slam, they had the opportunity to present their poems to their classmates while enjoying handcrafted drinks and snacks in a relaxing atmosphere. It was truly a joy to witness their enthusiasm and pride in their work.
This holiday season, our sixth grade SAGE students completed a heartfelt service project by researching how to make homemade dog and cat toys. They generously donated these toys to the Rockwall Pet Adoption Center, making a positive impact on the lives of the animals there. In addition to their crafting efforts, the students also spent time loving on a couple of the dogs that are still looking for a good home. Their kindness and compassion truly exemplify the spirit of giving.
