A Note from our first Principal

Welcome to Linda Lyon Elementary School! It is such a joy to be the first principal of Linda Lyon Elementary. Linda Lyon Elementary is situated in the beautiful community of Heath, Texas, in the high performing Rockwall Independent School District. We are a Pre-K-6th grade campus serving approximately 350 students.

Our vision includes creating a warm, joyful school environment in which we will cultivate a growth mindset in our students so that they will thrive and be excited about learning each day. We believe in partnering with our families and community to create a collaborative learning environment in which students have opportunities to create, communicate, solve problems, and think critically. Our relationships with our students, families and the community are the foundation of our culture of excellence and innovation.

A Note from our current Principal

It is truly a joy and an honor to serve as the principal of Linda Lyon Elementary School. Leading a campus named for one of the greatest educators our community has ever known is a distinct and meaningful milestone in my career. While our school began as a small campus within Rockwall ISD, it has since blossomed into one of the largest elementary schools in the district. We are incredibly proud of the work happening here each day—work that continues to draw new families to our growing community.

Our story began in 2017, and each year adds a new chapter filled with growth, learning, and achievement. Our purpose, “What Starts Here Empowers Greatness,” continues to guide everything we do. We believe that the learning experiences, relationships, and opportunities provided at our school empower students to become all they were meant to be. Our mission remains focused on helping students thrive, feel inspired, and develop a genuine excitement for learning each day.

At Linda Lyon Elementary, we are committed to providing a collaborative learning environment where students are encouraged to create, communicate, solve problems, and think critically. The foundation of our culture is built on strong relationships with our students, families, and community partners. It is through these partnerships that excellence and innovation are cultivated.
